|
We’re pleased to share some positive updates from the Finsbury Park Safer Neighbourhood Team, reflecting our continued work to reduce crime and support the community.
Focused Patrols Making a DifferenceOur team has increased visibility around Finsbury Park Station, Seven Sisters Road, and Stroud Green Road. These areas see the highest concentration of local crime, particularly anti‑social behaviour and offences near Station Place, and officers have intensified patrols to reassure residents and deter offending.
Targeting the Most Reported CrimesRecent crime data for January 2026 shows the four most commonly reported crime types in Finsbury Park were: Our officers have used this data to intensify hotspot policing and run joint operations with specialist units, particularly around theft‑from‑person and VAWG‑related concerns. Community Partnership SuccessWe’ve continued working closely with local businesses and Islington Council to address repeat locations of concern — resulting in faster environmental improvements, better lighting, and proactive crime-prevention advice for shops and venues.
Theft-From-Person Reduction WorkWith theft‑from‑person being the third most reported offence locally, targeted patrols and plain‑clothes deployments have been helping disrupt offenders operating near transport hubs and busy night‑time areas. Improving Community SafetyFinsbury Park officers ran a proactive knife‑test‑purchase operation with the aim to reduce knife crime by making it harder for under 18's to buy knives. Operations like this directly support wider violence‑reduction work in the area — particularly around hotspots where violent offences cluster.
Listening to the CommunityFeedback from residents has shown increased confidence in police visibility around key routes, especially near the station and surrounding streets. We remain committed to engaging with diverse community groups, faith networks, and seldom‑heard voices to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. | ||
